Photo Album

I have collected over 10,000 photographs since I retired my Canon A-1 for a digital camera in 1997.   I prefer existing-light photograghy using the light that your eye sees rather than changing the mood of the original scene.   These are some of my favorites.

This is the Golden Gate Bridge from Alcatraz Island. I took this October of 1997 at 7:30 at night just after the sun set behind the bridge.

This was taken from Liberty State Park in Jersey City on a cold dry night in the Fall of 1991.  This is not a digital photo. I scanned it from a photo I took with a 30 second exposure on 100 asa film.  This awful scan does it no justice.

Taken in the Redwood Forrest of the Muir Woods, Marin County, California, June 2, 1999.

This is the National Gold-Medal Winner, Gordon Biersch Brewmaster, Jay, with myself at the Golden Gate in San Fransisco.  We posed for the typical touristy, postcard shot as a goof, but the photo came out well.  October 1997.

Night shot of the Flamingo Hilton in Las Vegas, January 1998.

Typical street scene in New Orleans, taken March 13, 1998.

This is a little news stand in New Orleans. Good example of the modest character of the town.

I was trying to get a better view of Anchorage, seen in the distance to the left. Although the sun is very low on the horizon, it's actually mid-day. Taken from the mountains of Alaska, January 26, 1999. I kicked the dent out from the inside before I returned the car.

Midnight at Times Square, New York City, December 1997.

Myself at Times Square looking like I'm in the garbage disposal business. August 25th, 1999 before a show.

In Oakland, Ca. October 25th, 1999.

I climbed to the top of Glacier Point in Yosemite Park to get a photo of Halfdome under the setting sun. By the time I got there, it was a little too late to get the full light from the sun and most people were leaving with their Hasselblads and tripods...I went up to look anyway.  While I was hanging out, someone said, " what's that thing?"  That thing was the full moon rising over Halfdome.  I took some of the most awesome photos in my collection.  October 23, 1999.

Jay and I on the air live with nationally syndicated "JT the Brick" from the radio studio in San Francisco after the Yankee's World Series win.

My Dad and I out in the snow.. Winter 1999.
To the left is Sheena, my ten year old Black Labrador.  She was anxiously awaiting her Sunday ride to the Windmill for cheesefries.  The fat doormat on the right isTubby, 21 pounds of cat.

This was my 1967 Corvette.   For motorheads: it has a 327/350 hp 11:1 compression engine, M-21 close ratio 4 speed, white top, black interior, the paint is called Goodwood Green.  With the 3.36 rear end, I ran a lack-luster 15.2 quarter mile at Englishtown.  I have installed the MSD ignition  system with split fire plugs, providing a surprising increase in performance. The photo above was taken on a friend's dock on the Navesink River in Rumson, August, 1998.

Built in 1893, it's one of the last remaining of its development and was the house retained by the builder as his own home. The basement was converted into a speakeasy during prohibition.  Today the home features most of its original character including parquet floors, leaded glass windows, pocket doors, 8 foot doorways, and 12 foot ceilings. My computer room is in the upper tower. I can see for miles up there. It's great up there during a thunder storm.
